Back in 2017, I was one of the original team members of Marvel/DC: Uprising - a Facebook Media Page focused on posting superhero-related content.
Most of the content creators on the team came from different communities such as Facebook Groups, Reddit, and Forums. Everyone had different types of content they would post, such as fan art, comic book covers, easter eggs, trailers, and more.
It was early on that I noticed that the short-term videos that I had repurposed from Marvel & DC animated and live-action content were the most performing pieces of content. Back then, Facebook's organic growth algorithm had not yet been restricted and the short-form video content strategy really helped expedite the page’s growth.
After that, the page generated hundreds of likes per day and reached millions of people per week on average. Within 3 months, the page grew from 20K followers to 50K+ followers.
For this project, we were also lucky to have the occasional opportunity to attend fan expo conventions and get exclusive interviews with special guests. I had the chance to cover the Vancouver Fan Expo when the cast of the Flash had a press event, as well as meet & greets.
